If you study the Law of Assumption, it’s likely that you also dabble in meditation, and if that’s the case, you’ve likely come across Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations on YouTube, or perhaps you’ve even been to one of his retreats. Becoming Supernatural is a meditation how-to. It’s a comprehensive tome backed up with scientific studies and stories from his own clients. It may be a hefty book but don’t let that deter you! It’s a fast read due to its thoroughly engrossing nature.
I’ve been meditating ever since I read Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, but admittedly, I’ve been doing so without formal instruction aside from a few instructional videos. This book has completely reformed my technique for the better. I also have found more enjoyment in the process.
Dr. Joe Dispenza explains how important it is to connect with the unseen world on a regular basis. When we are consciously connected to our memories and past trauma, we allow this energy to become trapped within our bodies and minds, keeping us tethered to an old story and preventing us from moving forward to the identity we truly want to inhabit. We can release that old story and step into the new by focusing on the present moment through meditation.
“If you want to experience the supernatural in your own life – by healing your body, creating new opportunities you could never have imagined before, and having trancendent, mystical experiences – you first need to master the concept of the present moment: the eternal now.”
Dispenza explains how our brain waves change during sleep, and we can reach this same state through meditation, which is the same state that we try to reach during our SAtS. When we’re able to change our frequency, we can tune in to another world where we can manipulate the energy and create miracles with intent and purpose.
“Getting beyond our body, our environment, and time isn’t easy – but it’s worth it because once we disconnect from three-dimensional reality, we enter a whole other reality called the quantum, the realm of infinite possibility.”
The author guides the reader through preparatory steps with breathwork, how to focus on and activate the energy centers, clearing the body of trapped negative energy, forgetting the past, forgetting the body, and moving into another state of awareness, but with intention. This is where you become open to receiving new information and creating new experiences when you’re able to harness the abundant energy we are all connected to. This is where miracles are born. Whatever you desire, you can make happen.
“If you understand that where you place your attention is where you place your energy, you know that the stronger the emotional reaction associated with the cause, the more you will consistently place all your attention on a person, thing, or problem in your external world. When you do this, you are giving quite a bit of your power away to some one or some thing. Now all your attention and energy is anchored in this three-dimensional realm of the material and your emotional state is causing you to continuously reaffirm your present reality. You can become emotionally attached to the reality you want to change. This mismanagement of your energy keeps you enslaved to the world of the knowns, trying to predict the future based on the past; what’s more, when you’re in the survival state, the unknown or the unpredictable is a scary place.”
We can see here the parallels with the Law of Assumption and where you place your attention and thought. Dr. Dispenza is providing us with another technique, similar to SAtS, that you can employ at any time, without having to wait for the drowsy time period. There is much more control through meditation, and I dare say it’s a stronger method to train the subconscious into purposeful thought redirection. Meditation is also quite necessary for people who are grappling with a fight-or-flight mentality from trauma, or other severe emotional distress, and also for those suffering from bodily diseases.
This book is filled with scientific studies conducted by Dispenza and his team as well as other published studies that back up his research. He also includes a number of meditation instructions such as one for clearing negative energy, another to activate the pineal gland, and another to open the heart center.
I’ve been recommending this book to everyone I know.
