The blessed, the lucky, and the few find their way to the Laws of Assumption with a healthy and whole mind. They might have been led to the laws through a friend or were born into a family of creators, thereby growing up with the knowledge ingrained into their very core. But most people find their way here through hardship and suffering after spending countless hours of research into self-healing methods or through other similar routes.
Whatever the circumstances, you were MEANT to find the Laws of Assumption. This is the fulfillment of your I AM. No matter the path, it is the ultimate goal for all, to know and recognize the power within you and to fulfill the promise that has been made to you. You are being asked to know your I AM and to create the reality you desire.
Yet no matter how much you learn and understand, no matter how many times you’ve read Neville Goddard’s entire collection back and forth, no matter how set and determined you are to choose your reality, underlying trauma can hold you back. It is essential to FIRST heal that trauma.
Why is this? Because trying to manifest FROM a place of trauma conflicts with your I AM statements. Trauma tends to keep the mind in a continuous loop, especially when PTSD is involved. If you have traumatic memories that are unprocessed, they can cycle over and over in your mind, stealing your attention away from your desired state. And while you focus and give attention to those unprocessed, unhealed memories, you prevent yourself from manifesting or moving to that desired reality.
Manifesting, or – rather CHOOSING – your desired reality is dependent on your dominant thoughts. It should be effortless, easy, and super fun to live in the end and choose that desired state. But for those with trauma, it’s a constant struggle. You’re constantly forcing yourself to envision those happy and lovely fantasies because your unhealed trauma keeps diverting your energy and thoughts to extremely painful memories and thoughts of unworthiness. It transforms what should be a simple task into a chore. And the two opposing energies are canceling each other out.
Heal First
Unresolved trauma and PTSD need to be healed first. Thankfully, there are techniques that are often used with the Law of Assumption that can heal those old wounds. However, it many cases, it would be wise to seek traditional therapy first. In fact, I would recommend it.
- Traditional Therapy: Seeking help from a therapist or psychologist is a wise move if you have been suffering from past emotional wounds and unprocessed traumatic events. There are so many techniques used that often mirror those techniques used by LoA practitioners, but with a guided and practiced hand, they can lead you to FASTER healing. If you are stuck in a cycle of pain that you have not escaped, seek to be tested for PTSD. It is extremely important to find a treatment protocol that may include CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Brainspotting, and more.
- It is so very important to heal properly before you begin your manifestation journey. Please know healing takes time. Be patient and roll with it. Do the necessary work. The reality you desire will not be going anywhere. It’s time to focus on you.
- Because LoA relies on dominant thoughts in both the conscious and subconscious realms, healing from anything traumatic becomes imperative. While practicing LoA is essentially healing, the process can take much longer if the wounds are severe. Traditional mental health help is the absolute first step when deep trauma is present.
- Revision: Assuming you are not completely traumatized, but that you have some long-standing events and memories that cause you pain or keep you from identifying with your chosen I AM, you can revise them. And the first step to doing this is to identify them. Many of you already know exactly what these memories are, others may have to dig for them.
- For example, if you’re trying to manifest an SP but your memories are constantly bringing you back to a time when that SP hurt you, these are the memories to revise. First think of these memories and then script out exactly what you WISHED had happened. Completely reverse the scene so that you are elevated and feel completely supported and loved. Go as big as you wish. Do this for each event that harmed your sense of self and ego. Then sit back, relax, and envision the new revised scenes. I suggest entering this state twice a day. It is an incredibly healing practice because by doing this, you are LOVING yourself.
- In some cases, you might not know exactly what the blockage is. For example, you might have trouble manifesting money because you’ve always seen yourself as poor. My suggestion is to meditate on the issue and go back to childhood. You may find an event in which you first realized that you and your family didn’t have “as much” and suddenly, this was your concept of self – as poor. Look for these memories and revise them. Remember yourself as always being abundant, always having enough, being the envy of all the other schoolchildren! Go big!
- I AM Identity: Make a choice. Who do you want to be? There are infinite versions of yourself and all you need to do is choose. With that choice, then affirm this new identity every day. Your feelings are outward projections of your assumptions, but there is a reversal effect. Learn to experience the joy and limitless love of the new identity you have chosen, and this will begin to harden your assumptions about yourself into fact and reality. This determination can bring about great healing. You can become fully healed simply be choosing to be, and then aligning your feelings and thoughts with that choice!
Remember that healing can take time, for both masters and for the initiate. And that’s because you are human, after all. Though you were made in His image, and with all of His power, great pain is not always so easy to process. But it must be contended with before you can begin your LoA journey, otherwise the pain will continue to distract your thoughts. And as we know, what we focus on and give attention to often brings about more of. And that is why it is so necessary to become healed first.
